Coaching in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles

The Surf Track

Most surfers plateau because they're practicing without a roadmap. The Surf Track gives you structured coaching with a clear progression plan, real feedback between sessions, and a coach who knows where you're going before you paddle out.

Cadence: Most clients progress best with 1 session per week. When swell and schedules align, you can choose an Accelerator pace of 2 sessions per week for a focused block.

These packages are simply how we structure commitment. The more sessions you commit to, the more we can refine, repeat, and build surfing that holds up across conditions.

Surf Track 5

The fastest way to get clear on what's actually holding your surfing back. We identify your biggest limiters and give you a simple, repeatable focus so your next sessions stop feeling random.

Best for: getting clear direction fast and rebuilding key fundamentals.

Typical timeline: 3 to 5 weeks standard | 3 to 4 weeks Accelerator

Includes:
• 5 in water or video analysis sessions
• Ongoing messaging support

Surf Track 10

We move beyond isolated fixes and start building patterns that actually stick. This is where technique becomes consistent and decision making improves because we have enough reps to calibrate and adjust.

Best for: surfers who want noticeable, reliable progress over a season.

Typical timeline: 8 to 12 weeks standard | 5 to 8 weeks Accelerator

Includes:
• 10 in water or video analysis sessions
• Ongoing messaging support
Payment plan available

Surf Track 20

This is the serious container. Enough sessions to train through different conditions, pressure test your habits, and build surfing that holds up when it is not perfect.

Best for: surfers committed to long term progression and independence.

Typical timeline: 16 to 24 weeks standard | 10 to 16 weeks Accelerator

Includes:
• 20 in water or video analysis sessions
• Ongoing messaging support
Payment plan available

“Most surfers focus only on time in the water. The ones who progress fastest also train how they move, recover, and think.”

What I believe In

I work with people who are serious about surfing and want it to actually mean something in their life, not just be a hobby they're mediocre at.

Surfing is interesting because it pulls people into a lifestyle. Most people start because it looks fun, but what keeps them coming back is that the ocean forces you to be completely present. You can't control it. Every wave is different. So you learn patience and adaptability whether you want to or not.

Most of my clients have demanding jobs and limited time in the water. If they just paddle out randomly, progress is slow and frustrating. So my job is giving them a real structure. Technique in the water, video breakdown after, and what's happening on land too. Strength, recovery, the habits that support focus and energy between sessions.

What ends up happening is that surfing becomes the anchor for a much bigger shift. They get stronger, more present, more connected to something outside of work and screens. That's the part I'm really in it for.

My job is making sure they actually get good enough to live it.

What Happens When You Commit

“Ryan is efficient, professional, and an absolute pleasure to learn from! I am super stoked that I came across his services on social media because over the 4-5 months I've been working with Ryan, I've went from barely going down the line on my board to now practicing rail-to-rail turns. In addition to providing valuable in-depth review and mechanical tips in surfing, Ryan has also walked me through worthwhile life advice -- ways to think of the ocean, surfing, mental health, and how it all ties in together.

If you're looking for progression in both the water and in the mind, Ryan is your guy!”

“I spent hours looking for the right Surf Coach and after hours and days of search, I came across Ryan on social media. I was looking for a coach that was very versatile and also able to teach beginners to advance surfers. before Ryan, I could not even stand on the board, but after a couple of sessions, I was able to start going down the line on my own. We practiced in water and then also reviewed the footage taken to see where I could improve.

His coaching made a huge impact on my surfing journey and I will definitely be using him again in the near future for when I need assistance on more advanced techniques!”

— Frank V.

“I am a beginning surfer and have had lessons with other coaches and I improved the most with Ryan by far. He is very attentive and has a natural ability to evaluate and communicate changes for you to make to really improve your skills. For instance once we got my pop up pretty solid, we moved on to reading the waves, maneuvering and positioning, and he constantly sprinkled in surf etiquette and the low down on SD surf spots. Which was very appreciated.

In addition he is organized, calm, friendly, and positive- which makes for great days of surfing. I highly recommend!”
